After recently placing veteran free agent Tyler Conklin on the active/physically unable to perform list, the Lions have plucked yet another veteran tight end off the free agent market in Firkser. Firkser found decent production as he played out his rookie deal in Tennessee but has been fairly quiet ever since. Bouncing around in stints with the Falcons, Lions (twice), Jets, and Chiefs, he has only 17 catches for 153 yards from 2022 on. Detroit also gets Mahogany back on the field, where he will return to the team’s competition for the starting job at left guard.
