Roman is eight months old, he won’t remember the day his dad carried him around Glasgow stadium, ear muffs on for the noise, a flat cap on for the cold, and because it looked cool as hell. But his dad will remember it.
It was the day Matt Denny carried Roman around Scostoun Stadium having just defended his Commonwealth title and become the first man in 68 years to win back-to-back discus gold medals.

“It was nice. Becoming a Dad has been a big one for me, and to be able to have him share that moment and with Mia (his wife) obviously they’re the biggest part of my life so to share that moment with him, and he’s not going to remember, but I know I will. You know when I’m old and gray,” Denny said.
