The Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children threw their support behind the Commonwealth Games by attending a series of events in Glasgow including the Australian Diamonds’ semi-finals clash.
But in true style it was eight-year-old Prince Louis who stole the show with his signature cheeky facial expressions as he watched the netball and cycling and even donned a bucket hat supporting Wales.
Princess Catherine wore a classic sporting ensemble including one of her favourite jumpers — a black-and-white striped Breton cashmere top — similar to what she wore when she delivered a devastating personalised video message announcing she had cancer in 2024.
She accompanied it with a dark green double-breasted Ralph Lauren blazer, long white pleated skirt and beige heels.
Princess Charlotte, 11, wore a white dress with black polka dots and Prince William wore a light blue linen dirt with a dark blazer.
Prince Louis wore a light blue Ralph Lauren shirt, while his older brother, Prince George, 13 wore a white Ralph Lauren shirt with dark blue trousers.
They watched on as Australia’s Diamonds’ netballers suffered a heartbreaking 46-45 loss against Jamaica after the siren at the Hydro arena.
Many chants of ‘Aussie, Aussie, Aussie’ could be heard from the packed house as the royals watched on.
The attendance of the three children was kept top secret until their arrival in Glasgow on Saturday.
It was the first time the three siblings have been seen publicly in Scotland together despite spending plenty of time there including during their school holidays when they often stay at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire.
They were accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, who is the Vice-Patron of the Commonwealth Games Federation and his wife the Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.
The Prince and Princess of Wales use their Scottish titles — the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay — when visiting Scotland.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla officially opened the Glasgow Games on July 23 and throughout the two-week international event members of the royal family have shown huge support for the Games by attending many events.
Australia missed out on potential visits by the royal family after former Victorian premier Daniel Andrews abruptly cancelled the Games in 2023.
After the royals attended the netball semi-final on Saturday they were greeted outside the Hydro arena by the Games’ official mascot, the unicorn dubbed Finnie, before they were farewelled by hundreds of eager fans who were waiting patiently to take photos and videos.
They were then were driven to the Glasgow International Centre, a 5km journey, to watch the cycling finals.
The royals watched about half an hour of cycling alongside Dame Laura Kenny, one of Britain’s greatest-ever female cyclists, who was a six-time Olympic medallist.
During their visit to Glasgow the Prince and Princess of Wales also met with Games’ volunteers and and aathletes at the Spectator Village.
