The Cronulla Sharks have bounced back from an early deficit and sin bin to lead South Sydney at half-time in their top-eight clash.
Cronulla halfback Nicho Hynes converted all three of his goal kicks in the first half, taking his current streak to a club-record 29 consecutive goals.
The all-time NRL record for most consecutive goals is 35, held by Canterbury Bulldogs legend Hazem El Masri.
Later, Wests Tigers meet the Parramatta Eels in the final match of the round.

The Sharks were gifted the penalty after Rabbitohs hooker Brandon Smith was charged with an illegal strip.

50′ TRY: Addin Fonua-Blake scores for the Sharks
A perfect response from the Cronulla Sharks.
Attacking the Rabbitohs’ goal-line, five-eighth Braydon Trindall goes to the left with halfback Nicho Hynes threatening out the back.
But Trindall decides to pass short to a charging Addin Fonua-Blake, and the prop forward bursts through the defensive line to score.
Hynes converts the try from in front of the posts — 30 consecutive goals.

Siosifa Talakai (Sharks) out with bicep issue
South Sydney just scored by attacking the left-edge defence of the Sharks.
And it seems likely the Rabbitohs will be targeting there more often in the second half.
Centre KL Iro failed a HIA, and now Siosifa Talakai — who filled in at centre — is out with a bicep issue.

43′ NO TRY: Bunker denies the Sharks
Sione Katoa of the Sharks rushed up in defence to tackle Rabbitohs player Latrell Siegwalt.
The ball comes loose, and Sharks centre Jesse Ramien picks up the ball, runs to the in-goal and scores.
Referee Todd Smith has sent it to the Bunker, believing Siegwalt had passed the ball and it was knocked down by Katoa.
The replay shows it is very close. It is not clear if Siegwalt had passed the ball or not.
The Bunker is supporting the on-field call of no try.
The television broadcast shows Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon not looking pleased with that decision.

NRLW Magic Round: Broncos 34 def. Bulldogs 4
The Brisbane Broncos have remained unbeaten in 2026, and have moved back to the top of the NRLW ladder with a comprehensive win over the Canterbury Bulldogs.
Brisbane, the reigning premiers, were on the scoreboard after less than two minutes when Lauren Dam crossed for the opening try.
Brisbane held a 16-0 lead at half-time, despite Ali Brigginshaw being sent to the sin bin.
The Broncos went on with the job in the second half for the 34-4 win.
The Broncos and Sydney Roosters are the only two sides that remain unbeaten through five rounds.

After a slow start, the Cronulla Sharks take a well-earned 12-point lead into half-time.
Centre Latrell Siegwalt scored first for the Rabbitohs, and then the Sharks were down to 12 men when Teig Wilton was sin binned for a high tackle on Jack Wighton.
But the Sharks held firm, and when they were back to 13 men, scored 18 unanswered points.

Nicho Hynes has set a new Cronulla Sharks record, converting the Blayke Brailey try.
That successful kick is Hynes’ 29th consecutive goal.
He passes the previous mark of 28, which was held by Luke Covell, set in 2006.

An attacking kick to the goal line from Braydon Trindall was contested and knocked back by winger Ronaldo Mulitalo.
The ball bounced into the waiting arms of Siosifa Talakai, who charged onto the ball and crossed the goal-line.
