The GC standings at the Tour de France Femmes 2026 – Yellow jersey goes to Sigrid Haugset from breakaway after Wiebes gets dropped early

After an epic 90km solo breakaway victory, the Tour de France Femmes has a new leader and its first yellow jersey wearer from Norway in Sigrid Haugset (Uno-X Mobility), who survived ahead of a charging Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) on stage 3 for the biggest win of her career.

Haugset quickly moved into the virtual lead of the race as she got into the breakaway, having started Monday’s stage 1:14 down on Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime), who was dropped early during the difficult start heading out of Geneva.

Kim Le Court-Pienaar (AG Insurance-Soudal Team) remains in second overall, 2:02 down on the lead of Haugset. She attacks several times during stage 3, but could never break away on her own or form a cooperative chase group. At times, she got her team to pace to try and reduce the gap to Haugset, but eventually gave Justine Ghekiere a pat on the back as they realised a chance for a second stint in yellow had disappeared up the road.

Demi Vollering (FDJ United-SUEZ) maintains her position in third, now 2:06 behind the leader, with Noemi Rüegg (EF Education-Oatly) also staying in fourth overall as the first of eight riders who are all 2:10 off the overall lead.

Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike) moves up to fifth by winning the sprint behind the two breakaway riders, taking the remaining four bonus seconds available on the line.

The other six riders 2:10 behind Haugset are Cedrine Kerbaol (EF Education-Oatly), Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team L’IMAD), 2024 winner Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney (Canyon-Sram), Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Premier Tech), defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Visma-Lease a Bike) and Marlen Reusser (Movistar) in 11th.

The Tour de France Femmes continues on Tuesday with a crucial day in the general classification race, the 21.6km time trial from Gevrey-Chambertin to Dijon, where a major shake-up to the top 15 should be expected.
