Reece Walsh has been slammed over an incident that saw him sent to the bin against Newcastle Knights.
The Brisbane fullback was punished by the referee after pulling Dom Young’s hair during a melee that erupted between the two teams.

He has escaped suspension for his actions despite it not being his first offence.
Walsh pulled Jarome Luai’s hair during a State of Origin clash in 2023, which journalist Paul Crawley pointed out in his damning criticism of the 24-year-old.

“I couldn’t believe that people were actually defending the fact Reece Walsh shouldn’t have been sin-binned for the hair pull on Dom Young.” he said on NRL 360.
“I thought if you want to be stupid enough to come running in to a melee these days, where it should be a sin bin anyway, and pull someone’s hair…
“Walsh comes in and Does this dumb thing and then sits there and argues with the referee that he shouldn’t be sent off.
“He’s had his chances. He pulled Jarome’s Luai’s hair I think it was back in the 2023 Origin series, and then he got sin-binned the following game after that for going head-to-head with Luai.
“And then he had the incident last year in the Raiders semi-final, when is he going to grow up?”
Walsh has underperformed this season with Broncos languishing towards the bottom of the ladder.
The 30-6 defeat to Knights on home turf was the latest blow for the reigning premiers, with Walsh losing control.
“Mam and Young are going at it, that was a bit of WWE and now here’s Jermaine McEwen – that had a bit of pepper on it,” Dan Ginnane said in Kayo commentary.
“My goodness, the refs have got their hands full. What a bit of self-destruction.”
