THE bp Adelaide Grand Final has continued its knack of not doing things in half-measures, calling up Eric Bana to feature in a TV promo for the 2026 Supercars decider.
A known motorsport enthusiast, the Aussie movie star was last night unveiled as the face of the campaign promoting the November 26-29 event.
“The countdown is on, and tonight’s event launch was a launching pad for what will be a massive, adrenaline fuelled 2026 bp Adelaide Grand Final,” said event director Shaun Bennetts.
“As the winner of the Best Supercars Event for four consecutive years and boasting enormous crowds to rival Australia’s best sporting events, it’s exciting to have Eric Bana onboard to showcase why our bp Adelaide Grand Final event is a must-attend spectacle.”
Besides being the guaranteed site where the Supercars champion will be crowned, Adelaide will again play host to a $50,000 Friday race, plus speedway, plus a new Race of Champions-style rally competition, plus concerts including Guns N’ Roses.
“The bp Adelaide Grand Final has once again raised the bar, setting the stage for what promises to be a spectacular conclusion to the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship,” said interim Supercars CEO Barclay Nettlefold.
“The additions both on and off the track further enhance an event that is already one of the most anticipated on the Australian sporting calendar. Combined with a championship-deciding battle on one of the world’s great street circuits, fans can expect an unforgettable weekend of racing and entertainment.
“Adelaide consistently delivers an incredible atmosphere for competitors, teams and fans alike. We’re excited to return and crown the 2026 Supercars champion in front of a passionate South Australian crowd as the season reaches its ultimate finale.”
