The Seiko Prospex HBB003K and HBB004K are two new Asia-Pacific exclusive editions, limited to 2,500 pieces each.
The sand-textured yellow and orange dials are inspired by the visual transition from golden sunsets to tranquil nights along Asian coastlines.
Priced at A$995, both models are available for pre-order exclusively through Seiko Boutiques and Seiko Online.
Seiko is leaning heavily into coastal sunsets for its latest regional releases. The brand has just announced two new Asia-Pacific Limited Editions: the Prospex HBB003K and the HBB004K. Excluding Japan, each of these two models is restricted to 2,500 individually numbered pieces. They both capture the visual transition from a golden afternoon sunset into dusk. Pulling inspiration directly from the coastal scenery of Asian resorts, these watches carry the dive-ready format of the Prospex – Seiko’s dedicated collection of professional-grade sports and diving instruments.
To replicate the beachside atmosphere, Seiko equips both models with a sand-textured dial – its finely grained surface designed to evoke sunlit coastlines. The HBB003K features a bright, sunlit yellow dial, representing the peak of the golden hour, while the HBB004K shifts the palette slightly later into the evening with a highly saturated orange. Both models are framed by a sharply contrasting black unidirectional rotating dive bezel. For strong legibility when the sun goes down, the broad hands and applied hour markers are heavily treated with Seiko’s proprietary Lumibrite material.
Both watches utilise a highly wearable stainless steel case profile that will feel immediately familiar to fans of modern Seiko divers. Measuring 41.7mm in diameter, 12.3mm thick, and with a lug-to-lug distance of 49.5mm, the new Seiko Prospex references maintain a robust yet manageable footprint on the wrist. A screw-down crown and a solid caseback secure a professional, dive-ready 200 metres of water resistance, and rather than sapphire, the dial is protected by Seiko’s Hardlex glass, a material the brand frequently uses in its accessible dive watch collections for high-impact resistance.
The new Seiko Prospex Sea HBB004K and HBB003K references carry the same angular design language of typical Prospex models, specifically drawing from the “Samurai” shape. Standing for “Professional Specifications,” the Prospex line has been Seiko’s dedicated home for serious sports, aviation, and diving watches since the brand introduced Japan’s first-ever diver’s watch back in 1965, the 62MAS.
Powering both the HBB003K and HBB004K is the Calibre 4R35 – Seiko’s tried-and-true, workhorse automatic movement, known for its long-term reliability and ease of servicing. Used in Seiko’s recent 145th anniversary Prospex limited editions, it beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and features both hand-winding and hacking seconds capabilities, along with a power reserve of 41 hours. A neatly integrated date window sits tucked away between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions on both dials, keeping the layout clean and symmetrical and ensuring none of the lumed hour markers is cut off or compromised.
Seiko has paired both models with a sturdy stainless steel bracelet with a 20mm lug width. It features brushed and polished finishes and comes complete with the brand’s highly reliable three-fold clasp system with a push-button release, ensuring it sits securely on the wrist or easily expands to fit over a wetsuit.
