Specialist WA roaster GESHA Coffee Co. has announced it will be shutting its original Fremantle venue after more than 11 years of operation.
From August 10, the WA brand will shift focus to its Bibra Lake headquarters as it prepares to hand over keys to the owners of successor Bloom Cafe by the end of this month.
Director Daniel Pano reflected on the company’s evolution from a small roastery behind the counter to a specialty supplier with loyal customers across the State.
“From day one, our vision was to make specialty coffee our primary focus,” he said.
“This transition allows us to put our full energy into what we do best, sourcing, roasting, and supplying quality coffee to a growing community across WA.”

The Bibra Lake address on Discovery Drive has become the epicentre of the business — home to the label’s roastery, espresso bar, and retail store.
GESHA also operates its Sensory Lab and Barista Training Academy from location, along with other technical support services.
While the WA brand plans to expand its wholesale supply, stockists network and coffee cart hire as it departs the harbour town, Mr Pano said the move simply marked the next phase of GESHA’s journey.
“To everyone who supported us in Fremantle over the past eleven years, thank you,” the director said.
“This isn’t goodbye, it’s simply a new chapter for GESHA Coffee Co., and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.”
However, the location won’t become entirely GESHA-free, with the owners of Bloom Cafe agreeing to pour and stock the brand’s specialist brews upon moving into its Queen Victoria Street digs.

Sharing the update on announcement media, the cafe’s regulars reacted to the bitter sweet news.
“Thank you so much for a fabulous café. My husband and I have been coming for years and watched the structural changes. The food and coffee has always been spot on. The new owners have large shoes to fill,” one person said.
Another commented: “Very sad news. Food, coffee and service have always been on point. We also love how kid friendly it is with a designated area/toys for little ones. Definitely going to take something special to replace GESHA Coffee Co. Fremantle.”
