Isack Hadjar believes he is in a luxurious position to be a team-mate of Max Verstappen, despite the challenge of attempting to keep up with him.
Verstappen is widely regarded as one of the most consistent drivers on the grid and has easily outpaced the drivers he has been paired up with in recent years.
Hadjar was handed the second seat at Red Bull for 2026 after just one season at the sister Racing Bulls outfit.
The Frenchman has impressed with a consistent stretch of results inside the top six and is heading towards a likely extension for 2027.
Assessing how he approaches the intra-team battle with Verstappen, Hadjar told the Talking Bulls podcast: “I’ve always been curious to know, what’s the highest level in the world?
“What is it like to share the same car as the best driver on the grid?
“And at 21 years old, I have the luxury to get to compare myself against Max and see what he does.”
Verstappen has out-qualified Hadjar eight times to three so far this year as the latter continues to find his feet at the team.
Hadjar added: “Every time he’s out there on track, he puts such a high benchmark and tough times to beat.
“It’s always very impressive to be next to him.”
