World Boxing Council expresses its solidarity with Colombia, Ecuador and Panama after Monday’s earthquakes
Mexico City – August 10, 2026 — The World Boxing Council (WBC) expresses its deepest condolences, solidarity and support to all the people and families affected by the earthquake that shook Colombia this morning and was also felt in both Ecuador and Panama.
In these moments of pain and uncertainty, the WBC stands wholeheartedly with the communities of those countries, especially those who have lost loved ones, have been affected, or face the consequences of this tragedy.
We have begun evaluating the most effective ways to join the relief efforts already underway by various local and international organizations for the affected communities. The specific actions through which our boxing family can provide its support will be announced in the upcoming days.
We express our most heartfelt solidarity with the entire boxing community in Colombia, Ecuador and Panama: Fighters, trainers, promoters, officials, leaders, families and fans who are going through unimaginable hardship.
Boxing is a great family that transcends borders, and we must remain united in the face of adversity, accompanying and supporting each other.
