WASHINGTON, DC – Concerned Women for America (CWA) said that World Boxing’s decision confirming that mandatory sex testing will be in effect in the female category at the inaugural World Boxing Championships 2025 is a “victory for women.” In a June 2025 letter to World Boxing, CWA applauded its May 2025 decision to enact mandatory sex testing.
“World Boxing is leading the way on the international stage to restore the veracity and integrity of sex-based categories of sport. Their decision to enact mandatory sex testing is a victory for women’s safety and dignity,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America.
“It is unconscionable that equal opportunity for women in sports has become an avenue for exploitation when athletes of the male sex identifying as women are allowed to participate and compete in sports designated for female athletes. We call on other sports governing bodies to also institute mandatory sex testing,” said Nance.
