New Delhi: Lifestyle brand Motherland launched its ‘Made in India’ collection and appointed MMA fighter Asha “The Knockout Queen” Roka as its Digital Ambassador.
The collection featured polos, T-shirts, 70s-inspired ringer tees, crop T-shirts and tank tops across unisex and women’s fits.
Its designs used words including ‘INDIA’, ‘Bharat’, ‘SWADESHI’ and ‘MADE IN INDIA’ as central visual elements, with a focus on typography and minimal silhouettes.
Motherland, which operates across apparel, lifestyle accessories, art and publishing, said the collection drew on Indian identity and contemporary cultural references.
As part of the launch, the brand partnered with Roka, an MMA fighter who became the first Indian woman to record a nine-second knockout.
The accompanying campaign featured Roka in an MMA setting rather than a conventional fashion backdrop, linking the collection with her sporting identity.
Asha Roka, MMA Fighter said, “I’ve always felt that representing India is about more than where you come from. It’s also about what you choose to do with your journey and how you carry that identity with you. That’s what connected me to Motherland and this collection. The designs are simple but they have a strong presence, and that feels very close to how I approach my own work; stay true to who you are and let that speak for itself.”
The ‘Made in India’ collection is available at Motherland Superstore.
