The ACE Radio Network has confirmed a number of roles within the company have been made redundant this week.

In his address to staff, ACE Radio CEO Mark Taylor said it’s been an incredibly difficult time for the organisation.

“We have had to make the tough decision to say goodbye to a number of valued colleagues through redundancy, and we have also ceased or given notice to some of our contractor services.”

“Please know that these decisions were not made lightly. Letting go of talented people who have contributed to our team is deeply saddening, but it was a necessary step to ensure the long-term health, stability, and future of our business. We are incredibly grateful for the hard work and dedication of those who are leaving us, and we are doing everything we can to support them through this transition.”

ACE Radio Production Manager Cassie Aldridge was among those let go.

On LinkedIn, Aldridge said “Naturally, I’m disappointed by today’s outcome given my passion for the radio industry.”

“I understand the industry is facing significant financial pressures and, like many traditional media organisations, regional radio continues to be reshaped by automation and advances in AI.”

“I’d like to thank ACE Radio for the opportunities they gave me and wish the company, and my colleagues, all the very best for the future.”

ACE Radio staff have been offered counselling and support.
