Today show host Sarah Abo has walked the red carpet at the 2026 Logies just weeks after welcoming her first child.
Speaking with nine.com.au on the red carpet, she shares that this is her first night away from her newborn son, Sonny, but confirmed he’s not too far from her.

Abo welcomed Sonny in late July. He is her first child with her husband of more than a decade, Cyrus Moran.
“I’m feeling alright. It’s my first night kind of away from him. He’s upstairs, though, so I’m going to be checking in every hour!” she said.
“Because I just – I’m obsessed with him, actually. It’s amazing. As soon as you give birth, your whole world revolves around this little tiny human, and you’ll do anything for them. So, yeah, it’s wonderful.”
Sonny recently made his Today show debut when Abo brought him into the studio to meet the rest of the team.
She said that while she’d been in her baby-bubble for the past four weeks, she was preparing for her night out at the Logies, noting the “superhero effort” to get her ready for the event.
“I think it’s a nice opportunity to be there with you guys all as well,” she told her colleagues, Tom Steinfort, Sylvia Jeffreys and Jayne Azzopardi.
Abo is heading into the evening with a nomination for the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter, while Today is nominated for Best Current Affairs Program.
Speaking with nine.com.au, Abo says that her younger self would never believe that she was not only at the Logies but nominated for a major award.
“I think growing up watching Australian television, I just loved what I saw on the screen,” she says.

“And I used to love watching the Logies themselves, too. So to be actually nominated, it feels surreal, to be honest. I don’t think I’ll quite believe it until that category is announced.
“And I’m in such esteemed company. The other journalists who are nominated in that category are extraordinary. I’ve long admired them.
“It’s something pretty special about being in that field. I mean, I’m the youngest one, the least experienced one, but just to be nominated among them is so incredibly special, and I’m really honoured.”
