Aussie rocker Jordan Brunoli has shared a devastating update on his health, after being diagnosed with incurable bowel cancer last year.
The bassist for the Brisbane band Bugs received the diagnosis at age 29, but he revealed he’s now in the “final chapter of my life” in a heart-breaking post on Instagram.

As the Bugs band prepares to release their new single Head Noise next week, the musician gave an update on his health and revealed that treatments haven’t stopped the cancer spreading.
“I wanted to share an update about my health amidst the new music,” the post started.
“I have spent over a year now trying different chemotherapy drugs, backed by an amazing oncologist and treatment team.
“Unfortunately I have a mutation that causes rapid growth of tumours, and none of the treatments have been able to stop the cancer from spreading.
“I am now entering the final chapter of my life after being told in June I had a prognosis of 3-4 months.
“I’m sharing this with everyone to keep y’all in the loop and be as upfront as possible.”
Brunoli added that he’s “grateful” for the support from bandmates Con, Brock and the OG Bugs team “who have banded together to indulge my wish, to release our album and play some shows before I go.”
He explained the band have worked on the new album for the past two years, through the good and bad.

“We kept recording even when I was recovering from surgery, sick from chemo, even when I had neuropathy so bad I couldn’t feel the guitar I was playing,” the post continued.
“With the love and support of everyone, we are finally able to share it with you.”
For Brunoli, playing music and touring the country has been the “opportunity of a lifetime” and that if there were upcoming shows, he would be on stage.

Brunoli revealed his cancer diagnosis last year and explained it was at stage four because it had spread to his liver and lymph nodes.
The rocker underwent surgery to remove part of his bowel and got a permanent stoma before he started chemotherapy.
At the time the Bugs band launched an online fundraising page to help pay for medical bills and cover his living costs while he was unable to work.
For Brunoli, sharing the diagnosis was important to raise awareness about bowel cancer and it’s rise in young people.
