A Thai teenager allegedly murdered by Perth man Simon Carman died of suffocation, a police autopsy report has reportedly revealed.

The 45-year-old is accused of picking up Tunchanok Donhomla, 17, near Pattaya Beach in the early hours of June 25. The pair allegedly agreed to engage in sexual services at Carman’s apartment, but two days later the teen’s naked body was found stuffed inside a suitcase, and Carman arrested at the airport attempting to fly home.
The ABC today reported Carman’s DNA was found on the victim’s body, and that local police had determined her caused of death was suffocation.
Officers said they expect their investigation to conclude this week, with their files to be submitted to prosecutors.
“I think we have collected 100 per cent of the evidence. Once it is brought before the court, the court can consider imposing a sentence quickly.” Police Colonel Anek told the ABC.
In Thailand, a murder conviction can carry the death penalty or imprisonment of 15 to 20 years.
