The Mauritian champion wants to put right the wrongs of last season and make history at the Lloyds Tour of Britain

Last year, Kim Le Court-Pienaar left the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women in pain. Not only had she crashed hard onto a roadside curb on the second stage, leaving her barely able to walk, she also rued the missed opportunity of taking her first WorldTour stage race victory after a blistering stage one win.
Having tasted more success at the Tour de France Femmes just a couple of weeks ago, the Mauritian champion is back on British soil, not far from the Scottish border and the place of her maternal ancestry. The AG Insurance-Soudal rider is at the 2026 Tour of Britain Women to put things right, and to add another line to her already record-breaking palmarés on a course that suits her characteristics.
Should she win, Le Court-Pienaar would become just the third African rider ever to win a UCI WorldTour stage race, and the first from outside of South Africa. Previous African WorldTour stage race winners include Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, who won the 2022 Tour de Romandie, and Daryl Impey, twice a winner at the Tour Down Under.
“At first I didn’t plan to come back here, but the course looks really exciting and it’s always nice to not end a race on a bad note and to try and turn the page with a good note,” Le Court-Pienaar told Escape and Velora on a drab and cloudy morning in the Cumbrian town of Cockermouth before the first stage.
