Ipswich is on the chopping block amid negotiations over the makeup of the 2027 calendar. The circuit only returned to the schedule last year after a four-year hiatus.
It’s the home track for Ford squads Triple Eight Race Engineering and Dick Johnson Racing as well as Chevrolet teams PremiAir Racing and Matt Stone Racing.
All eyes will be on Triple Eight and Will Brown in particular off the back of the restrictor saga that has embroiled Supercars in the week leading up to the Ipswich Super440.
Whether one millimetre makes all the difference will be put to the test at a circuit that the team knows well and dominated a year ago.
Brown won the second race of that weekend, which was bookended by his teammate Broc Feeney for a Triple Eight clean sweep.
Kai Allen (Grove Racing), Ryan Wood (Walkinshaw TWG) and Cam Waters (Tickford Racing) were the weekend’s other podium finishers in 2025.
When is the Ipswich Super440?
The Century Batteries Ipswich Super440 at Queensland Raceway takes place on August 21-23.
Who are the Supercars wildcards?
There are three wildcard entries for the Ipswich Super440.
Bayley Hall headlines the additional entries in a Supercheap Auto-backed Team 18-run Chevrolet Camaro. He will join Craig Lowndes later this year in the Ryco Enduro Cup.
Matt Stone Racing will also run an extra Camaro for Aaron Seton, who makes his second start of the season after replacing Cameron Crick at the Townsville 500.
Tickford Autosport Super2 Series regular Ben Gomersall will make his Supercars debut with Tickford Racing in a Ford Mustang.
