The father of Geelong Cats star Tanner Bruhn has been forced to bark like a dog under threat of violence.
Matthew Bruhn, a former Geelong Football League player, can be seen kneeling in the video.
A person behind the camera demands he barks like a dog and Bruhn does so.
He then gives his name and reveals he owes money to the Hell’s Angels, an outlaw motorcycle gang, when asked.
Bruhn’s lawyer has responded to the video, claiming it was made in jest.
He adds that his client does not owe money to the Hell’s Angels nor has he had any dealings with them.
“The video was made in jest with some friends and was not intended to depict, and should not be represented to be depicting, actual or true events or circumstances,” said Anthony Murdoch of Patten Robins Lawyers.
“That is to say, our client says he does not owe any money to and has not had any dealings with or associations with the Hell’s Angels OMCG.”
In a separate matter, the Geelong Advertiser report Bruhn failed to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court in relation to a civil claim brought against him.
The complainant, Mr Jarrad Hills, who has no connection to the apparent video prank, alleged he loan Bruhn $40,000 in 2023, with the court ordering he be repaid along with additional interest and costs.
“I heard from him probably three weeks ago, saying that he wanted to put it on to a payment plan through his lawyers,” Hills told the Geelong Advertiser.
“He’s done it multiple times, and I said ‘unless the money’s in my account, I’m not going to go through one of your lawyers and sign an agreement because you don’t listen to any of it anyway’.”
Bruhn is said to be well known in Geelong football circles with son Tanner playing for the Cats.
Tanner was subject to a police investigation in 2025 that was dropped in November, with the 24-year-old failing to make an AFL appearance all season.
He has returned to playing this year however with 19 appearances to his name, and one goal.
