French club has officially announced the arrival of another EuroLeague rookie in their squad.
As confirmed on their social media accounts, Tremont Waters is the new point guard of ASVEL.
Waters’ prior experience in Europe
Waters is a EuroLeague rookie, but he has played in Europe before, specifically in France.
During the 2022-23 season, Waters played with Victor Wembanyama for Metropolitans 92.
Waters averaged 18.2 points, 5 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 2 steals and shot 41% for 3 points in the French League, playing with the NBA superstar before embarking on a journey to China.
Waters was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2019 as the 51st pick of the draft, where he played for two seasons.
During his NBA career he also played for the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards.
Incredible Olympics Qualifying tournament
Waters also notably played for Puerto Rico during the 2024 Olympic Games Qualifiers where he helped them to take the spot ahead of the favorites Lithuania, averaging 15.3 points and 5.5 assists during the tournament.
He spent the last season in Puerto Rico playing for Gigantes de Carolina, where he averaged 16.3 points and 6.8 assists and 1.9 steals.
