The injury occurred during an offseason workout recently and will sideline Sharpe for a significant period of the 2026-27 season, sources said.
That six-month timeline would target a return for Feb. 24, 2027, at the earliest, meaning Sharpe will miss Portland’s first 59 games and won’t be available to play until after the NBA All-Star Break.
Sharpe, 23, is set to enter his fifth NBA season this fall. In 50 appearances with the Blazers last season, including 42 starts, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 20.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 29.4 minutes per game while shooting 45.2% from the field and 33.7% from behind the 3-point line.
The end of Sharpe’s 2025-26 season was hampered by injury. In a game on Feb. 6, he suffered a stress reaction in his left fibula that caused him to miss 28 games. Sharpe returned to the court on April 10 with just two games remaining until the postseason. Sharpe also played in just 32 games during his second NBA season due to a core muscle injury that required surgery.
Last October, Sharpe signed a four-year, $90 million extension with the Blazers that kicks in this season.
