FSW hires Matt Creamer as new women’s basketball head coach
FORT MYERS, Fla. —
It’s been a busy season of change for Florida SouthWestern State College athletics!
From a new athletic director to several coaching changes, there have been a lot of new faces here in Fort Myers, and one of them has just settled in right before the start of the season!
FSW WBB Head Coach Matt Creamer said, “Kevin called me, and I said, ‘Why not, let’s do it.’ I’m truly honored to be here and to work for Kevin and to put a good product on the floor.”
Matt Creamer is the new head coach for the FSW women’s basketball team.
He brings nearly two decades of coaching experience across several levels of men’s and women’s college basketball, and he’s ready to lead the Bucs back to national success.
Creamer said, “I’ve turned down some head jobs in the past, some D-1 assistant jobs, and this was the right fit. This was the job I wanted honestly for the last several years, and to get the opportunity to it, I’m not going to take it lightly, so I’m going to bring it every day for the fans and the community and the players.”
Matt might have arrived two months before the start of the season, but he feels optimistic about what’s to come this year and beyond.
Creamer said, “We’re going to bring it every day, and everything is going to be disciplined. They’re going to do it the right way; they’re going to represent their parents, themselves, and our program on and off the floor.”
Practices will get underway soon for the Bucs as Creamer and his staff get the team set for the start of the season in October.
