Cricket greats from across the world, have come together to raise concerns about the treatment of Pakistan’s former cricket captain turned Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has been in jail since 2023.
The 73-year-old is being held on charges of corruption, which he denies.
Last week Pakistan’s Supreme Court ordered Mr Khan be transferred to a private hospital after his family and friends expressed concern for his health. Instead, he was sent to a government hospital which declared him medically fit.
Now, Australian cricket legend Greg Chappell has organised a letter to be sent to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, renewing their appeal for better medical treatment.
It’s been signed by more than 20 other former cricket captains including Australia’s Steve Waugh and Allan Border and well as India’s Kapil Dev, and England’s Michael Atherton.
