John Matthews founded ‘Ride Hard Breathe Easy,’ roaring his bicycle around the country to help lung cancer patients like his late mother.
CHELTENHAM, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — John Matthews of Cheltenham created ‘Ride Hard Breathe Easy’ in memory of his mother, who passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer in 2011.
The nonprofit that raises funds for lung cancer patients and does annual long bike rides.
In 2026, their 10th ride took Matthews and a group of friends from New Hampshire to New Jersey across 5 days.
They have raised roughly $30,000 this year and report $1.3 million in lifetime fundraising.
