Claressa Shields has done it all in boxing, but she’s hoping to get one more wish before she hangs up her gloves.
The five-division world champion told TMZ that she would love to have Beyoncé walk her out to the ring before she calls it a career.
“Beyoncé, listen, baby girl. Before I retire,” Shields said. “… I need you to walk me out. You pick the song, and only perform 30 seconds, one minute, whatever you decide. Before I retire, I need Beyoncé to walk out the greatest woman of all time, and that’s my only request. I won’t ask you for nothing else. I won’t even ask you for a picture if that’s not what you want.”
Shields is coming off a sixth-round TKO victory over Kaye Scott for the unified middleweight titles earlier this month. Before her win, she had rapper Latto accompany her to the ring.
The 31-year-old added that she plans to continue her boxing career until she’s 38.
While Shields’ next move isn’t official, she was recently called out by unified super-welterweight champion Mikaela Mayer, and she appears to be open to a future showdown.
