Jules Neale has followed up her tell-all interview with a statement thanking people for their support after Tess Crosley broke her own silence on the saga.
The pair each gave blockbuster interviews this week discussing the affair which led to Jules’s marriage breakdown with Lachie Neale.
Jules claimed in an interview with Adelle Petropoulos that Lachie had cheated on her prior to his affair with Crosley, describing it as “the worst feeling in the world”.
Crosley then sensationally claimed in an interview still to be released by the Daily Mail that she felt like she had been betrayed after information was leaked to the press.
“I thought we sort of made the unanimous decision not to make any comments publicly at all.” Crosley said.
“Only a couple of months ago, I also learned that somebody from the parties was sending private information to the journalists.
“And that was really hard. I’d been staying silent out of respect.
“There’s so much more to this story that people don’t know, but I’m not going to bring others down just to make myself look better either.
“It almost did feel like a betrayal.”
Jules has since taken to Instagram to thank her followers for the support they have shown her in a moment of vulnerability.
“I’m finding it hard to find the words to describe the gratitude I have for the love and support I’ve received today,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Sharing something so personal and vulnerable is never easy.
“So every message, comment and kind word has meant more to me than you probably realise.
“Thank you for holding so much space for me, for cheering me on and for reminding me just how kind people can be.
“I feel extremely grateful for every single one of you. Love Jules.”
The two interviews were dropped just days after Lachie made things official with new fling Emma Field by sharing a kiss in the Brisbane changing room.
Brisbane are set to get their finals campaign underway next week against the Sydney Swans, with Caroline Wilson expressing her amazement at the timing of the interviews.
“The media department found out about the Tess Crosley one,” she said on Channel 7’s The Agenda Setters.
“Quite extraordinary timing to think they’re both coming out (in the same week) … I make no judgement on either of these women, but it just amazes me that you would want to do this, I’ve got to say.”
“Lachie has been extraordinary all year, despite everything that’s been going on in his private life,” she said.
“He’ll be one of the top three in their best-and-fairest. Halfway through the year he was probably leading their best-and-fairest. He’s been amazing.
“He’s obviously very good at handling this sort of pressure in terms of his game time. I can’t comment on the off-field, but they feel that this is a distraction that they really don’t need.”
