At this point, we all know the Apple Watch. If you’re an iPhone user, there is quite literally no other option that pairs with your phone as well as the Apple Watch. Which is why it’s notable whenever an Apple device, including the watches, go on sale, because you’d expect the Cupertino company to hold on to their products’ MSRP for as much as possible.
However, we spotted the Apple Watch Series 11, currently the latest generation of Apple Watches (at least until the Series 12 gets announced, which may be rather soon) going for slight more than a quarter off of its usual price.

All things considered, the Apple Watch Series 11 is an incremental upgrade from its predecessor the Series 10 – as in, it looks almost identical from the outside. It’s a testament to the longevity of the Apple Watch formula, but there are a few notable differences, which are especially apparent if you’re coming from an older (like, way older) Apple Watch, including new health features and better battery life.
Improved battery life and durability
Apple advertised up to 24 hours of battery life without needing to charge, and as we found in our review, this is more or less true, as it will last an entire day and night with sleep tracking enabled before needing a charge. As for durability, the Series 11 improves upon the Series 10 by having Ion-X glass that’s twice as scratch-resistant as the latter. The Series 11 also features an IP6X dust resistance and water resistance rated for up to 50m.
A great screen
The Apple Watch Series 11 comes equipped with an LTPO3 OLED display that’s not only capable of up to 2,000 nits of brightness, but also 1 nit of minimum brightness. Being LTPO, the display’s refresh rate can also shift from 60Hz to just 1Hz for still images to save battery. It’s also a wide-angle OLED that makes screen content more legible when looking at the watch face from an angle. It’s notable that LTPO3 and the wide-angle OLED are only new to the Series 10 and 11, so again, it’s another potential upgrade point if you own an older Apple Watch.
More health measurements
Debuting alongside the Series 11 were two new health tracking features: Sleep Score and Hypertension Notifications. Sleep Score does what it says on the tin by tracking statistics such as your sleep duration, the amount of times you wake up and how long you spend in each stage of sleep. Hypertension Notifications, meanwhile, analyses your blood vessels over 30-day periods to notify you if you potentially have high blood pressure.
It’s worth noting that Sleep Score and Hypertension Notifications were also released for older Apple Watches; the Series 9 and 10 got the latter, while Sleep Score is available for as far back as the Series 6. However, in combination with other features listed in this article, the Series 11 remains the highest-end choice with these health features right now.
Of course, there’s a bunch of other health tracking features that Apple has built up across the Apple Watch generations, including atrial fibrillation detection, sleep apnea notifications and fall detection.
