Today weather presenter Tim Davies has announced he’s leaving the show after seven years.
The beloved TV personality confirmed the news live on air, a moment which left his co-stars visibly emotional.

Tim Davies has announced he’s leaving Today Today
“After all of these years, I have made the really hard decision to finish on a high and step back from this role and in turn, this program,” Davies said while reporting live from the Gold Coast.
“I have been at this network for 12 years, and when I was asked to come across to Today from Nine’s Sydney newsroom, I was a journalist covering the likes of courts and crime and reporting on some of the worst parts of our society.
“Little did I know the gift, the absolute light that this role would be, getting to feature the absolute best of us. From me to all of you, I’ve been so lucky. The people, the places.
“This job has made me the proudest Australian.”
“Timmy, those are beautiful words, but we’re not very happy about this,” Dickie joked in response, while Samantha Armytage said: “You’ve done a spectacular job.
“I’ve known you for a lot longer than those seven years – we go way back – and you’ve always been just an absolute shining light of fun and generosity.”
Davies’ final forecast will be on Friday, 18 September.
Davies joined Today in 2019, and alongside reporting the weather he has skydived, bungee jumped, abseiled off some of the most thrilling and death-defying attractions, gone swimming with sharks and crocodiles, raced performance vehicles, and performed acrobatics all live on air.

In a separate statement, Davies said: “People always tell me I’ve got the best job in TV and they’re not wrong,” Davies said of his exit.
“Working alongside the best broadcasters, travelling to new destinations daily and showcasing incredible Aussies is a privilege.
“Not all journos get to deliver good news, good vibes and a smile with each story, so having achieved all that and so much more – this seems like the right time to step back, enjoy a sleep in, take a break without a camera crew and prepare for my next adventure.”
An announcement on Tim’s replacement will be made soon.
