(ABC 6 News) — Austin High School was put into a temporary lockdown Thursday morning due to a juvenile having a mental health crisis.
According to the Austin Police Department, officers responded to the high school at 8:36 a.m. and found a juvenile armed with a knife, causing the school to go into lockdown procedures.
APD said a school resource officer responded immediately, made contact with the juvenile, and was able to de-escalate the situation.
The juvenile was taken to Mayo Clinic, and APD said no force was used nor were there any injuries sustained during the incident.
