“We had some momentum and repeat entries, but we weren’t able to capitalise on that field position. When we got those opportunities, we weren’t able to capitalise which is disappointed.
“[It was] a bit of method. Just some composure at times broke down under some real heat, unfortunately.

On missing forwards Jacob van Rooyen and Matthew Jefferson:
“I don’t want to sit here and [make excuses]. Carlton played a really good brand of footy. That [the absences] might have caused some problems ahead of the ball, but I’m really proud that Melksham and McDonald could come in and have a send-off, it’s just disappointing we didn’t give them the send-off they would have liked.
