Neighbours star Scarlet Vas has clarified widespread reports that her husband, Tayo Ricci, is her stepbrother.
The actress-turned-OnlyFans-star set the record straight months after the pair previously told fans in interviews and social media skits that they are “stepsiblings”.
Now, in a new video shared with TMZ, the couple are asking for the reports to “please stop” as there is no truth behind it.
“I am so sorry to admit this, but we are not stepsiblings. I honestly have no idea where this even originated from,” Vas, 31, said in the clip also shared on her official Facebook with the caption, “The truth.”
“Well, we did do that one skit,” Ricci, 29, joked, before throwback footage of the pair pretending to be stepsiblings in an interview is overlaid in the video. “That explains it.”
Vas clarified: “Our parents have never dated. Tayo’s parents have been together for 40 years and my parents over 20 years.”
“So to all the major media companies that keep headlining ‘stepsiblings are having another baby’, we would like to formally ask you to please stop,” Ricci added before reinforcing in unison, “We are not stepsiblings!”
The video comes less than two weeks after the pair announced they are expecting their second baby.
The couple revealed the news via a joint Instagram post on August 19, with Vas showing off her growing bump alongside Ricci and their 19-month-old daughter, Silva.
“The doctor called. Apparently we’re having another baby,” they captioned photos of them dressed in his and hers denim outfits on a clifftop as they held up their ultrasound photos.
“We couldn’t keep this a secret any longer …” they also captioned a video of their announcement.
Australian audiences first came to know Vas when she portrayed Ramsay Street policewoman Mishti Sharma on Neighbours between 2017 and 2018.
Following her exit from the long-running soap opera, the actress pivoted to digital content creation, eventually becoming one of the highest-earning creators on the adult subscription platform OnlyFans, often featuring her husband in her content.
Speaking on Mario Adrion’s Uncensored podcast back in 2023, Vas revealed that creating content alongside Ricci – who she referred to as her “stepbrother” in the podcast – pushed her earnings into the platform’s top tier.
“I’m in the 0.01 per cent … Last month was my best month. I hit almost $200,000, and then this month I’m going to do well over $200,000,” she shared at the time.
“The fans love us as like a thing or not a thing. He’s my stepbrother and Australian, and we’ve known each other for a very long time.”
The couple were married on the Greek island of Mykonos in 2023 and welcomed their daughter one year later in December 2024.
They announced that pregnancy in a positive post shared in late 2023, where they described their unborn child as a “Christmas Miracle”.
