The Amazfit Balance 2 receives a new software update
Zepp Health is rolling out a new and comprehensive update for a still relatively affordable smartwatch packed with features. The new software version brings the Amazfit Balance 2 new features as well as an upgrade to Zepp OS 6.
Zepp Health has begun rolling out firmware version 6.2.208.7 for the Amazfit Balance 2 (on Amazon). The 23.33 MB download is already reaching users in various regions, including Germany. The headline feature is the upgrade to Zepp OS 6, which introduces a sportier UI designed for smoother performance and improved visual feedback.
Beyond visual tweaks, the update refined activity tracking across multiple sports. Zepp Health overhauled the breaststroke algorithm, added support for manual pauses, and now clearly separates swimming and rest intervals in workout summaries. Outdoor runners can now add Equivalent Pace—which normalizes running speed relative to elevation changes—as a dedicated data field, and map management has also been updated.
Fitness equipment connectivity sees a notable expansion. The smartwatch can now pair with FTMS-compatible rowing machines, such as the Concept2 RowErg, allowing real-time performance metrics to display directly on the wrist. Additionally, Zepp Health updated the workout library, workout calendar, and sports gear management, while Apple Watch and iPhone users can now sync heart rate variability (HRV) data directly to Apple Health.
I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.
