I’ve just been at Wrexham’s press conference ahead of their trip to Millwall tomorrow night, and there was a fair amount to unpack.
The Red Dragons expect to sign attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare from Sheffield United having already recruited centre-back Joe Worrall from Burnley earlier today.
Assistant Steve Parkin also spoke about Blades boss Chris Wilder’s comments about Wrexham being “in for half the division” and their “blanket bombing” approach to the final stages of the summer transfer window.
“I did read that (Wilder’s comments). Me and Chris go a long way back and he’s no different to any other manager,” said Parkin.
“If it looks as though key players are going to leave your football club, the natural thing is to be upset and I’m sure that was his reaction.
“In the cold light of day we don’t work like that, we earmark players that we would like to sign and that’s the way we go forward.
“I’m looking forward to meeting him and having a beer to see what he says to that.”
In other news at Wrexham, defender Dan Scarr is poised to join League Two side Salford City and midfielder Elliot Lee – a three-time promotion winner with the club – is expected to depart today.
Parkin also described defender Conor Coady as an “outstanding individual” following his departure from the club.
