Riedel Communications has announced the continued expansion of its managed coach communications partnership with Scottish Rugby Union, now entering its third season. The deployment uses Riedel’s SidelineComms Managed Service, part of the company’s RefSuite offering for professional sports communications.

The system is built around Bolero wireless intercom technology and includes three Bolero antennas, 21 Bolero S beltpacks with push-to-talk headsets, three standard Bolero beltpacks with Bluetooth pairing for the head coach, and a StageLink Network Stream Adapter for intercom recording and referee microphone audio routing. At Scottish Gas Murrayfield, Riedel also supported cabling infrastructure to extend communications coverage from the pitch to the changing room and coaching box. Tour-specific adaptations and a dedicated flight case allow the setup to travel for international fixtures.

“Clear live communication is essential for our training and match-day operations, connecting everyone involved in performance and match-day support wherever they are working,” says Christopher Chapman, Performance Analyst, Scottish Rugby. “With Riedel, we have a reliable solution that delivers excellent audio quality, supports dedicated staff groups, and is intuitive for our team to use — especially in loud stadium environments.”

“Our SidelineComms managed service is designed to give elite sports organizations clear, reliable communications in demanding live environments — from training sessions to international competition,” says Nacho Lee, Programme Manager, Riedel Communications. “With Scottish Rugby, we are delivering an integrated, service-led solution that combines communications for coaches and staff with managed support as envisioned with our RefSuite offering. The result is a flexible system that is easy to operate, easy to tour, and ready to scale with the needs of the team.”

Riedel will exhibit at IBC2026 (Stands 10.A24, 10.A31, and 10.A38, September 11–14), with a Live Production Experience demonstration at Stand 10.A24 each day of the show.
