KFC has officially jumped on the viral ‘picklemaxxing’ trend, launching a dedicated pickle-infused menu across Australia this week.
The limited-edition range taps into the internet’s ongoing obsession with all things briny, following the massive rise of pickle-flavoured products like lip glosses, ice creams, and cocktail mixers online.
The menu is available nationwide as we speak, but fried chicken lovers will need to move quickly to get their fix.
The range features a Pickle Burger, Frickles (deep-fried pickles), Pickle Loaded Chips, and even a viral-inspired Pickle Pepsi.
The Pickle Burger comes stacked with a classic Original Recipe fillet, a dill-icious pickle ranch sauce, pickle dill seasoning, bread and butter pickles, and pickle chips.
For those looking for a side dish, the Pickle Loaded Chips are topped with crispy pickles, popcorn chicken, and extra pickle ranch sauce.
The range also includes crispy, crunchy Frickles that are served alongside a creamy, tangy pickle ranch dip.
The most talked-about addition is undoubtedly the Pickle Pepsi, which pays homage to the briny, spicy drink trend popularised by pop star Dua Lipa last year.
It features a cup of Pepsi Max poured over ice with fresh pickles, served with a side of real pickle brine so customers can mix their own preferred ratio.
The entire loaded pickle menu will only be available for a strict four-week window, sold either individually or as part of a Picklecore Meal, Pickle Box Meal, or Shared Meal.
The news.com.au office managed to secure an early taste test of the entire feast, ultimately giving the briny menu a unanimous 10/10 score.
The news has already sparked a massive reaction across social media, with popular content creator @bayleirl giving the range a positive review on TikTok, while food lover Jade Wiseman admitted she “ran to KFC” the second the menu dropped.
The online community was quickly divided into two camps over the unconventional flavour profile.
A slew of sceptical fast-food fans expressed their total disgust at the concept, with one user admitting the line-up “would make me gag,” while another wrote “couldn’t imagine anything worse”.
Another commenter took particular issue with the new beverage, adding that it was “disgusting” and they would “never drink that with pickles”.
However, diehard pickle enthusiasts rushed to defend the fast-food chain’s bold move, flooding comment sections with absolute excitement.
Several fans instantly declared the menu “looks amazing,” while a former expectant mother asked “where was this when I was pregnant?”
Others admitted it was “such a good but bizarre combo,” while one ecstatic user simply commented that the entire launch was their “DREAM!!”
