The New York Knicks have joined the Los Angeles Lakers in the Bruce Brown race.
The Los Angeles Lakers have recently been linked to Bruce Brown, and it seems that they have found a new potential rival in signing the veteran wingman.
After the previous emergence of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat, the New York Knicks are now also a team that could sign Brown this offseason, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
“There’s been some talk about the Lakers wanting Bruce Brown after missing out on Kuminga, but I’m not really sure how much I believe that,” Siegel said. “I would cast doubt on the Lakers.
“Could they make it happen? Maybe. But I would look at the Knicks as a realistic option.”
Bruce Brown 2025-26 NBA season
Bruce Brown remains one of the top unrestricted free agents available in the market.
After winning the 2023 NBA title with them, Brown reunited with the Denver Nuggets for the 2025-26 NBA season via a one-year, $3 million deal. He averaged 7.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 steal in 24.4 minutes.
Brown appeared in all 82 games, shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range.
Bruce Brown to play Josh-Hart type of role in New York?
According to Brett Siegel, Bruce Brown might play a Josh Hart-type role should he join the New York Knicks.
A top-rated role player, Brown is renowned for his do-it-all play: defending, rebounding, playmaking, and hitting shots when needed while coming off the bench.
“He could come in and play that Josh Hart-type role for the Knicks,” Siegel said. “I think, personally for me, that would be a really good fit.”
