Green reacted to Lillard’s shooting practice results from earlier this offseason, when the veteran guard reportedly made 1,100 of 1,168 three-pointers.
Green, who has watched arguably the greatest shooter of all time, Stephen Curry, up close throughout his career, said he has never seen anything quite like it and expects Lillard to produce one of the most impressive shooting seasons in recent memory.
“I can’t say that I’ve ever seen anyone hit 1,100 out of 1,168… I don’t think the league is ready to see the type of shooting display that Dame bout to put on,” Green said on his podcast.
Lillard set to return after missing entire 2025-26 season

Lillard has not appeared in an NBA game since suffering a torn Achilles during the 2025 playoffs with the Milwaukee Bucks.
After missing the entire 2025-26 season, the nine-time NBA All-Star is now preparing for his long-awaited return to the court and his comeback with Portland.
Before the injury, Lillard was still producing at an All-Star level. In his final active season with Milwaukee in 2024-25, he averaged 24.9 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in 58 games while shooting 37.6% from three-point range.
His return to Portland brings him back to the franchise where he spent the first 11 seasons of his NBA career before being traded to Milwaukee in 2023. Lillard signed a three-year deal to return to the Trail Blazers in July 2025.
The last time Lillard played for Portland, during the 2022-23 season, he produced one of the best campaigns of his career, averaging 32.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 37.1% from beyond the arc.
Despite sitting out the entire 2025-26 NBA season, Lillard still showed that his shooting touch had not disappeared. He competed in and won the 2026 NBA Three-Point Contest, scoring 29 points in the final round to defeat Devin Booker and claim the trophy for the third time in his career.
