Marcus Camby earned back-to-back seasons as Toronto’s BPG single-season leader.

The Toronto Raptors franchise was established in 1995. Despite their relatively short time in the NBA, they have seen some players produce blocks in bunches. Let’s highlight their top five leaders in blocks per game for a single season.

Marcus Camby – 1998, 3.7 BPG

The Raptors selected Camby with the second pick in the 1996 Draft. He appeared in 63 games and averaged 32 minutes during the 1997-98 season. He averaged 3.7 blocks per game, which led the NBA. While he only shot 41.2% from the field, he also averaged 12.1 points to go along with 7.4 rebounds per game.

Keon Clark – 2001, 2.4 BPG

Clark began his career with the Nuggets. He appeared in 144 games for them before being traded to the Raptors during the 2000-01 season. Over 46 games after the trade, he averaged 2.4 blocks for the Raptors. Combined with his production across 35 games with the Nuggets, Clark averaged 1.9 blocks for the season. Clark eventually played just 127 regular season games with the Raptors, averaging 10.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. He finished his career by playing one season each for the Kings and Jazz.

Marcus Camby – 1997, 2.1 BPG

The 1996-97 season was Camby’s rookie campaign. He appeared in 63 games, 38 of which he started. He immediately made an impact on the defensive end, averaging 2.1 blocks. Camby would only play two seasons with the Raptors before being traded to the Knicks. Over 126 regular season games with the Raptors, he averaged 13.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks. Camby would eventually lead the league in blocks per game for four different seasons during his career and he won the Defensive Player of the Year award with the Nuggets for the 2006-07 season.

Antonio Davis – 2001, 1.9 BPG

Davis played six seasons with the Pacers before joining the Raptors. In 2000-01, he made his only career All-Star team. In addition to his 1.9 blocks per game, Davis averaged 13.7 points and 10.1 rebounds. Those blocks and rebounding averages would end up being the highest marks of his career. Following his time with the Raptors, he played for the Bulls and Knicks before finishing up his career with an eight-game stint back with the Raptors. Across 310 regular season games with Toronto, Davis averaged 12.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.

Tracy McGrady – 2000, 1.9 BPG

The Raptors selected McGrady with the ninth pick in the 1997 Draft. He spent just three seasons with the franchise before his career took off with the Magic. After not playing a ton during his first two seasons in the league, McGrady averaged 32 minutes per game for the Raptors in 1999-00. He made his expanded role count, averaging 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.9 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. Over 192 career regular season games with the Raptors, McGrady averaged 11.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 blocks. McGrady would eventually lead the league in points per game two times and make seven All-Star teams following his tenure with Toronto.
