SUPERCARS has officially announced Chevrolet will receive an aerodynamic parity adjustment in time for the Ryco Enduro Cup.
Per the official Supercars website, both the Toyota and Chevrolet homologation teams – i.e. Walkinshaw TWG Racing and Team 18 respectively – requested changes following last month’s Ipswich Super440.
The Supra request was rejected on the basis that “until certain areas… are further developed, no parity change can be considered”.
On the contrary, investigations highlighted a potential deficit for the Camaro, leading to the approval of a 70mm increase to the front undertray tunnel width.
Supercars holds the power to revise any parity adjustment within two events of their implementation.
Furthermore, Supercars will revisit Centre of Gravity testing after this weekend’s AirTouch 500 at The Bend.
Nine cars will undergo the testing in Melbourne.
It’s worth noting that the Camaro was adversely affected following February testing that was questioned by Team 18 boss Adrian Burgess.
The top five drivers and top three teams in the championship all represent Ford.
