FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University Men’s Basketball has announced its 2026-2027 regular season schedule, head coach Jim Crutchfield announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Sharks, who have won the last five Sunshine State Conference tournaments and NCAA South Region Tournaments, enter the 2026-27 season at the GSC/SSC crossover in Huntsville, Ala. opening the season in a neutral site contest against Montevallo on Nov. 13 before taking on Alabama-Huntsville on Nov. 14 on the road.

NSU has taken on UAH seven times in the last four seasons with three of those meetings coming in the NCAA South Region Championship Game. Of those seven meetings, four have been inside Rick Case Arena. The Sharks have never played at SportsMED Arena in Huntsville until now. NSU is a perfect 7-0 against the Chargers in that span.

The Sharks then put their 106-game home winning streak on the line in their Sunshine State Conference and home-opener against Florida Tech on Nov. 21. NSU has not lost inside Rick Case Arena since February 15, 2020, to then-No. 6 Florida Southern.

Nova Southeastern has 12 regular season opportunities to inch closer to the all-time NCAA record of 129-consecutive home victories achieved by the University of Kentucky in a span stretching a majority of the 1940s and 50s.

NSU will only host two non-conference opponents, Florida Memorial and South Florida Bible College on the days leading up to Thanksgiving on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25.

Palm Beach Atlantic makes its highly anticipated return to Rick Case Arena on Dec. 5, marking the first time the Sailfish come to Fort Lauderdale since Ross Reeves’s half court buzzer-beater to send the game to overtime in the 2026 SSC Championship.

The highlight of the Sharks’ regular season though comes in West Liberty, W. Va. as Jim Crutchfield makes his return to West Liberty where he spent his first 13 years as a head coach and was there as an assistant beginning in 1989. Crutchfield spent 28 years on the country roads of West Virginia before making the move to the Power in Broward with Nova Southeastern University.

NSU and West Liberty faced off in the 2023 NCAA National Championship Game, in which the Sharks prevailed, 111-101.

NSU faces Point Park on West Liberty’s court on Dec. 18 before taking on West Liberty itself on Dec. 19.

“It hasn’t been easy to get games at home in recent years,” Crutchfield said. “So, we’re going on the road to take on perennial national powers West Liberty and Alabama Huntsville.”

The Sharks then fight through conference play with notable home contests against Lynn on Jan. 13 and play Barry in their final home game of the regular season on Feb. 24. NSU wraps up the regular season on Feb. 27 on the road against Rollins.
