LOS ANGELES – Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched seven innings of one-run ball to earn his MLB career-high 13th win of the season as the Los Angeles Dodgers routed the Cincinnati Reds 14-1 and extended their winning streak to seven games on Wednesday.

Yamamoto (13-8) allowed three hits, including a solo homer, and a walk while striking out 10 at Dodger Stadium.

“I’m very pleased. Even after the lead grew, I didn’t let it bother me and stayed focused on pitching one inning at a time as usual,” Yamamoto said.

“With (the playoffs in) October in mind, I’ll continue to take it one game at a time.”

His compatriot Shohei Ohtani was out of the lineup for the second straight day, and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced later in the day that the two-way player would be placed on the injured list.

Munetaka Murakami hit his 31st home run as the Chicago White Sox lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2.

The rookie slugger launched a solo shot to right-center field and went 1-for-3 with an RBI at Rate Field.

In other MLB action, Tomoyuki Sugano allowed five runs over six innings in the Colorado Rockies’ 6-1 loss to the New York Yankees.

Sugano (12-9) surrendered four hits, including two home runs, and three walks while striking out five at Yankee Stadium.
