Honor shared a new video on its X page, revealing the real story behind the Magic 9 Pro Max phone’s interesting design. The credit primarily goes to ARRI.
Unlike the previous-generation models that use the long-running circular camera bump on the back, the Magic 9 Pro Max shows a “one giant two small” rings setup.
The giant imaging ring covers half of the camera frame, while the other two are arranged vertically. What kind of appearance is this – again inspired by Apple?
Following such questions, Honor revealed that the company has used ARRI’s iconic ARRIFLEX cinema cameras that have a massive camera sensor in the middle with two complementary lenses on the sides, making it look just perfect.
The signature camera look defines ARRI’s capabilities in photographing or videographing a certain shot and makes it look cinematic. Detailing the design, Honor said:
