In a section for Questions and Answers on The Draymond Show, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was asked to comment on the expansion.
To be more precise, he was asked to voice his opinion about talent dilution that could come with expansion:
“I don’t think that the dilution of talent is necessarily a worry for the players. That’s a worry for the league, ownership, front offices. I don’t care how talented is the next guy on the next team, I don’t give a damn,” Green started.
Green clarified that last season already we had a situation with 13 teams tanking or being able to tank.
“From the ownership standpoint, yeah, that always has to be a worry. We had 13 teams tanking last year. We had 13 teams being able to tank.”
In the end, Green noted that everybody will agree that an increase in the revenue pool and more money in the bank can only be a positive thing.
“When you look at the talent pool,is it substantial to add two more teams? Maybe, maybe not. Ultimately, money talks, BS walks, and everyone is obviously a fan of increasing the revenue pool,” Green concluded.
