The vivo X500 is tipped to feature a large 7500mAh battery and the Dimensity 9600M chipset (pictured: the vivo X500)

A leaked about phone screen from a vivo X500 demo unit confirms a 7500mAh battery and lists the processor as “Dimensity 9600M,” a name believed to be a MediaTek rebrand of the existing Dimensity 9500 chip.

A leaked About Phone screen from a review-unit vivo X500, posted by Weibo leaker 熊猫很秃然 (“Bald Panda”), lists the chipset as the Dimensity 9600M, clocked at up to 4.21GHz, the same peak frequency as the Dimensity 9500. The listing is one of the first on-device confirmations of the Dimensity 9600M name, following earlier speculation that MediaTek’s MT6993 chip, used elsewhere as the Dimensity 9500, would be rebranded for select 2026 flagships.

The unit shown lists 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It also features vivo’s V3+ custom ISP and a 7500mAh battery while running OriginOS 7. The status bar identifies it as a demo unit rather than final retail hardware.

Camera specs have already been confirmed officially: the standard X500 uses a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-828 main sensor, the same unit found in the X300 Pro, paired with a 64MP Lytia-610 telephoto camera with CIPA 5.5-rated stabilization. A separate unboxing of a white unit put the display at 6.59 inches and confirmed a 90W charger and matching silicone case in the box.

The vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max are set to launch in China on September 21, where reservations are already open. International availability, including in Europe and India, is expected to follow.

Instead of sports, I spent my school years buried in researching about everything tech, looking into chips and specs instead of doing whatever normal kids did. I am now writing for NotebookCheck, hoping that research finally reaches more people than just me and a text file.
