Jelly Roll just dropped a new song — and his fans are all having the same reaction.

On Friday, Aug. 22, the country singer released the song “Box Me Up” in collaboration with BigXthaPlug. The song features both artists singing while BigXthaPlug takes on the rap verses.

Following the song’s release, fans took to social media to congratulate Jelly Roll on the new hit, while also encouraging the country crooner to return to his rap roots.

“Jelly Roll , I know you’re going all country singer on us, but as a Day 1 fan I hope you bring some rap soon 😍 especially with Big X !!” commented one fan under Jelly Roll’s Instagram Reel featuring the new song.

“Bring back rap Jelly! For one song!” said another. “I was waiting for rap Jelly to pop out! 🔥😂” added a third.

Jelly Roll began his music career as a rapper in the early 2000s and gained recognition in the underground hip-hop scene. He later transitioned to country music circa 2022, finally reaching mainstream success with hits like “Son of a Sinner” and “Need a Favor.”

BigXthaPlug’s most recent album “I Hope You’re Happy,” which was released on Friday, Aug. 22, features several collaborations with country artists including Luke Combs, Darius Rucker, and Thomas Rhett. Prior to this album, he’s previously collaborated with country stars like Bailey Zimmerman and Ella Langley.

“There’s a lot of special features on this project, man,” the rapper said during an interview with Apple Music while listing off collaborators on the album, “I’m here to tell you, I’ve got my bag with this one.”
