General manager Kent Hughes announced on Monday that the team agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Martin St-Louis.
The 51-year-old St-Louis has a record of 149–136–43 over five seasons in Montreal and is coming off an appearance in the Eastern Conference Final.
“Marty has done a terrific job leading our young team,” said Hughes in a statement released by the team. “He is a great communicator and teacher. We look forward to his continued efforts to mold this group into a championship-caliber team.”
St. Louis, who was hired as an interim coach back on Feb. 9, 2022, was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award in 2024-25.
Hughes also announced that forward Josh Anderson has been named alternate captain to Nick Suzuki. Mike Matheson is the other alternate captain.
