JAKARTA, Indonesia (MNTV) — Cricket Indonesia is developing the Bali International Oval, a two-oval complex in North Bali intended to become the country’s flagship venue for international cricket and high-performance training, the outlet Cricbuzz reported.
Built as a year-round facility rather than a tournament-only ground, the complex will house the Garuda National Cricket Academy as a training base for Indonesia’s national and age-group teams and for visiting international sides.
Both oval footprints are established and the center wickets are taking shape, with drainage, irrigation, and broadcast facilities to follow. Cricket Indonesia envisions it as a potential high-performance hub for the Asia-Pacific.
The project follows Indonesia’s formal admission to the Asian Cricket Council in Bali in 2024.
Cricket Indonesia chairman Abhiram Singh Yadav said the country felt a responsibility “to build the infrastructure that would allow our players to use that opportunity for generations,” and pointed to cricket’s return to the Olympic Games as a spur.
“A young Indonesian should be able to dream not only of international cricket, but of an Olympic pathway,” he said.
