Australia will be one of 10 circuits to host a sprint race, up from six this season.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are scheduled to return to the calendar for the first time since 2025, both having been cancelled this season due to the conflict in the Middle East.

The Portuguese Grand Prix will also make its comeback on 20 June for the first season of a two-year deal. The Portimão venue hosted a pair of races in 2020–21 during the pandemic but has hosted MotoGP every season since 2020.

The Turkish Grand Prix will rejoin the calendar too, with the first of five contracted races scheduled for 3 October. Istanbul Park hosted seven grands prix between 2005 and 2011 as well as a couple of races in 2020–21.

The Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix will not take place in 2027, the first of a six-year deal to alternate with the Belgian Grand Prix. The former host of the Spanish national round will see Formula 1 action every even-numbered year until 2032, with Spa-Francorchamps hosting races in odd-numbered seasons to 2031.

The 2027 season will start with a sprint weekend in Bahrain on 14 March, with Saudi Arabia following one week later.

A week’s break will precede the Australian Grand Prix, the first of a triple-header comprising the Japanese and Chinese grands prix on 11 and 18 April.

Races in Miami (2 May) and Canada (23 May) will be separated by three weeks, as was the case this season, with Monaco opening the eight-round European leg of the season on 6 June.

Portugal will stand on its own in late June before double-headers in the UK and Austria and then Belgium and Hungary lead into the mid-season break.

The season will resume with the Italian and Spanish grands prix on back-to-back weekends in September before a triple-header comprising the Azerbaijan, Turkish and Singapore grands prix.

The United States, Mexican and Brazilian grands prix follow as a triple header. The Las Vegas Grand Prix will then stand alone on 20 November.

The Qatar and Abu Dhabi grands prix, both sprint weekends, will close the season on 5 and 12 December.

It will be the latest finish to a season since the 2021 campaign, which also ended in Abu Dhabi on 12 December, and the equal fourth latest season finale in championship history.

Four days of testing will precede the season between 24 and 27 February in Bahrain.
