Prop Tanner Stowers-Smith will start for the first time in the One New Zealand Warriors’ round 15 NRL clash against Gold Coast at Cbus Super Stadium in Robina today (5.30pm kick-off local time; 7.30pm NZT).

After nine games off the interchange, the 21-year-old rookie has been swapped with fellow 21-year-old Demitric Vaimauga, who moves to the bench.

The 18th man is hooker Sam Healey.

Omitted from the extended bench at the 24-hour mark last night were fullback Taine Tuaupiki, back rower Kalani Going and winger Edward Kosi.

Kurt Capewell, Te Maire Martin and Rocco Berry all return from the injury list for a match the Warriors must win to protect their top four spot.

After following concussion protocols last week, Capewell slots back into the second row while utility Martin is named on the interchange.

The big inclusion is first-choice centre Berry for his 50th milestone appearance for the club in what will be just his seventh game of the season.

The 24-year-old last played in the club’s 34-14 win over Wests Tigers in round 19 when a shoulder injury forced him off just 32 minutes into the game,

With the Zae Wallace Shield at stake, Berry is reunited on the right edge with winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak while fellow centre Adam Pompey reverts to the left edge alongside Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who has filled in at centre in the last three rounds, is moved back to his preferred spot at fullback.

With prop Jackson Ford serving a three-match suspension,  Vaimauga was originally listed to make his first start of the season after being used off the bench in each of his 21 outings so far this season.

Leka Halasima is on the interchange with Martin, Vaimauga and Eddie Ieremia-Toeava.
